Winter In Source

...this is not about anyone or anything else, only about a call to be In Source.

The power of a month of asking, Where Are My Hands? continues to ripple. It seems merely through becoming aware and more loving towards myself that my relationship to my phone and technology has tilted on its axis, in the direction I was hoping for.

Prior to Where Are My Hands, I had become aware that my phone had crept into more places than I was previously comfortable and I knew this was not just a matter of more discipline but more a matter of the trauma of early pregnancy loss that I experienced the year prior.

After the loss I saw myself too sensitive for social media yet I still leaned into my phone as a comfort in other ways — whether it be reading other women’s stories, dissociating completely with another marketplace rabbit hole or reaching out my trusted confidante for support. A big part that I believe is missing from the conversation of phone addiction is addressing what’s actually underneath. It’s not always a matter of more discipline, after all.
